Recently I visited a friend who I haven’t seen in quite a while. My friend is a chef at local restaurant. However, he also cooks a lot for his family at home. I got the chance to cook with him for a meal since we never see each other. We both love to eat all kinds of foods, so what we made ended up being a mixture of cuisine. His kitchen was very simple, and most things were done by hand. One tool he happened to own was a food and vegetable steamer. This allowed him to cook food in it hands-free while doing other tasks in the kitchen.
I contributed my little knowledge of cooking too. I had pretty good knife skills, and lacked a little bit in recipes. So my main job was to cut and prepare foods to be cooked. I was okay with that, as long as I got to learn from him. For all of the steamer food, I handled the preparation. My friend did the main magic of broiling, grilling, and frying. He even made some delicious dressing for the vegetables and meat. It was great to see such a good chef in action and I can say I picked up a few tips from him while in the kitchen.
